Outdoor Wednesday

I thought I'd share some photos I took last summer.
I just love the garden when the butterflies come to visit :

I just love these lilies. These are in my flower beds:
This year they are all over the in the ditches. I've seen more than any other year.
Apparently they are a native to Ohio

Raised Gardening

I was looking through some photos and I cam across when my daughter and husband built me 3 raised beds for square foot gardening. She was in FFA at the time and this was her SAE project.
The actual grown garden pictures were taken later that year - and yes you have a good eye -we built a fence around the back yard so we didn't have to look at the neighbors house/fence /yard.

First they leveled them, then they started on the frames.......
Next was the barrier cloth.........

We used a 3 part equal mix of vermiculite, peat moss and compost

OOPs - Before we cut off the fence posts
Mid summer crop.......
Don't forget to check out the other participants at Share A Garden Sunday!!
After I posted this I realized that (after seeing it posted) I should have mentioned the pvc pipe is used for netting - we have a critter in the neighborhood who LOVES the fresh salad bar. We have talked about putting a watering system with pvc pipe but haven't done it yet....

Vintage Hat Displays

Today we went to one of my favorite antique malls and I kept seeing similar display stands for vintage hats. It's the first time I have seen these and knew that my friends and fellow bloggers who sell in/at antique stores and shows would love these! This one was made with lamp bases - they put a round Styrofoam ball at the top, they covered it with material or doilies and ties it with ribbon.

Some were candle stick bases, some were vases with a dowel in the center.
Someone had even used a vintage plant stand and put the Styrofoam balls in each pot area.

I thought they were soooooo clever that I had to share!
Who thought you could take a lamp and make ahat stand!
Makes me want to buy some hats to make them lol!

Windchimes

We bought the silverware at different yard sales
and the wire and beads were leftover from other projects

There is no right or wrong way to put it together - use your imagination!

Tea Time

Tea Time

I've been trying to decided which one
of my tea items gets focused for this post?

Is it a new teapot or an old one?

Should it be a teacup or two?

New ones? Old ones? unique?

or average? many a tea time accessory?

So many choices.......

what do I post now and save for the next tea time???

Who wins this spot and who will be a runner up?

Will the runner up be the focus of the next post??

or will it get passed over again........ always the back up???

Well, I did finally make a choice..............

A new one...........

This w/e when I was at the lavender festival
I picked up this new cup

and it now resides on my wall

btw I don't think I've mentioned

how much I love lavender
have I?
lol

Father's Day Fun

My hsb decided he wanted to go eat and play goofy golf - we have a local place you can do both

After eating we ventured off to play a game of goofy golf at Udders and Putters:

Clever Name for a Dairy huh?

Looks impressive
We spent a bit of time waiting to see where the balls would end up
No you can't wish it in
Chuck won!!!!!!!!
I keep telling him we let him cuz it was Father's Day
(not really we just played poorly)
We did stop by the barns to visit the "girls"
but they were having dinner and weren't to interested in visiting

My dtr even made a friend:
Aren't they sweet......
The weather was perfect and we did laugh a lot
Hope you had a good Father's Day Chuck!
